Kidney Navigator Terms of Use

1. The short version

Kidney Navigator is an information and tracking tool. It does not diagnose, treat or replace your care team. The core app is free. Premium is an optional paid subscription. By using the app you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.

2. Not medical advice

Kidney Navigator is not a medical device. It organizes information you enter. Scans, photos and voice entry can be wrong, so check every value before you rely on it or save it. Your care team sets your limits and targets. For an emergency, call your local emergency number (911 in the US and Canada).

Kidney Navigator gives general education and helps you keep your own records. It is not medical advice, and no clinician-patient relationship is created by using it. Always follow the advice of your nephrologist, dietitian and other clinicians, especially for medicines, fluid limits, diet and dialysis.

If you think you are having a medical emergency, call your local emergency number (911 in the US and Canada). Do not wait for the app.

3. Free features

Every new account gets a 14-day free trial of everything. After the trial, the Free plan includes the Emergency card and dialysis reminder, care team, appointments, hospital stays and questions, the free tools on this site, PIN lock, English and Spanish, and downloading a copy of your data. The Care scanner, new tracker entries, the caregiver and doctor links, the doctor summary and encrypted sync are part of Premium. Until Premium goes on sale, every feature is free. We may add free features. If we ever change what is free, we will tell you in the app first, and you will always be able to download your information.

4. Premium subscription and billing

Premium is planned and is not on sale yet. When it opens, it will be $4.99 per month or $39.99 per year, and both plans start with a 14-day free trial. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period (every month for the monthly plan, every year for the yearly plan) at the price shown when you start, until you cancel. You can cancel in the app at any time; cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you already paid for. Payments are processed by Stripe on a Stripe-hosted checkout page. We never see or store your card number.

If we change the price, we will tell you in the app and by email before the change applies to your next renewal, and you can cancel before then.

5. Cancelling

You can cancel Premium in the app at any time. Premium then stays active until the end of the period you already paid for, and does not renew. After that you keep the free version and all of your information.

If you are charged by mistake, email us at the address below within 7 days of the charge and we will refund it. For any other charge, we will review your request promptly.

6. Your information

Your health information is yours. By default it stays on your device. If you turn on optional encrypted sync, we store an encrypted copy that we cannot read. You can download a copy of your information at any time, including if Premium ends. See the Privacy Policy for details.

7. Using the app responsibly

Please use the app lawfully and do not try to disrupt it, reverse engineer it, or access other people's accounts. If you share a caregiver link, you are choosing who can see that information. Keep your PIN and sign-in details private. Kidney Navigator is for adults 18 and older. People aged 13 to 17 may use sync only with a parent or guardian's approval, and we do not allow sync for anyone under 13. If you are younger than 18, please ask a parent or guardian to use the app with you.

8. Organizations and licensed versions

If an organization provides Kidney Navigator to you under a license, the organization's name or logo may appear alongside ours. Your information stays under your control as described in the Privacy Policy. The organization's license is a separate written agreement with us.

9. Changes and availability

We work to keep the app available and accurate but cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We may update these terms and will change the effective date above when we do. Material changes will be shown in the app before they apply.

10. Limits and governing law

You use the app at your own risk, and decisions about your health are yours to make with your care team. The app is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, MAVTG is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim connected with the app is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

These limits do not apply to liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence where the law does not allow it to be limited, or to gross negligence, willful misconduct or fraud. Nothing here limits rights you have under law that cannot be waived. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida.
